UMC Selects Silicon Canvas' Laker-T1 as Its Test Chip Development Platform

SAN JOSE, CALIF. - April 19, 2004 - Silicon Canvas, Inc. (SCI), an EDA company that provides automated test chip development platform and next-generation custom layout solutions, today announced that UMC (NYSE: UMC; TSE: 2303), a world leading semiconductor foundry, has selected Laker-T1 as its unified test chip development platform. UMC will use Laker-T1 to develop cutting-edge foundry technologies enabling sophisticated system-on-chip (SOC) designs, including advanced logic, copper, and mixed signal/RFCMOS.
